On Friday morning I got a call from Tom Verschuere, organizer of the
Rendez-Fou parties. He had the joyful news I was on the guestlist of Friday night's
The Sound party. We drove to Ghent and were suprised by the extraordinary location of this party, an hangar of industrial site still in production! The setting and ladies were promising, but a power failure brutally interupted the party take off. The techies did everything possible to get the electricity back in the air, but apparently something was short-circuiting. We decided to leave, since it was unlikely they were going to solve this technical issue quickly. Since we were in Ghent,
Kokorico was only a ten minute drive away. The party theme in Kokorico was
Love-everyone, a gay and gay minded monthly party concept. It's one of the best kept secrets these days that gay parties are the place to go to find good looking single hetero girls. The place was packed, but still there was a relax atmosphere with a smile on everyone's face. As an extra we got the Mister Love Everyone finals which were going on, so lot's of acts and entertainment. An experience I can recommend! On Saturday night I first went to see Joeri's Volley final, unfortunately his team lost the game, but still it was a thrilling game. After the game I drove to Ghent to meet my friend Janneke. She introduced me to the Cigar Lounge of
Belga Queen, a high class restaurant at the Graslei in the center of Ghent. The design of the bar by Antoine Pinto gives you the feeling you're in the old Belgian colony Congo. The great selection of liquor and Havanna cigars combined with live lounge music makes this the perfect location for a laid back night with friends. We enjoyed the Leroy & Pommery champagne served in style...
