DJ Contest at Zillion

On Saturday at 12AM the contest started with a set of DJ Guy in Cafe Zillion. Thirty-one DJ's would follow his example to complete a thirty-four hour non-stop live internet broadcasted videomix. I only left Zillion for a few hours to visit Club-Famous and to get some sleep on Sunday morning. Have a look at my pics & vids and listen again to the 34 hour DJ set at Radio.zillion.be

Belga Queen Brussels & Nanno Sur L'O

It wasn't hard to figure out which restaurant to go for business dinner this week. After a great experience at Belga Queen in Ghent last weekend, I invited my American boss to go for dinner at Belga Queen Brussels. What a great place! The interior, waiters, lighting, crowd, food, etc.... I enjoyed a Belga Queen Seafood platter, a plate with fresh oysters, lobster, shrimp, and more delicious crustaceans. After the dinner I picked up Filip, an old schoolfriend, on my way to Antwerp. It was the (re)opening of Nanno Sur L'O, a high class club on a boat at the Bonaparte dock in the center of Antwerp. We had a great night together with our friends Joeri, GP, Maike, Arsenio, Johan, good looking ladies & BV's. Bar tab: 5 bottles of Veuve Clicquot!

A weekend in style

On Friday morning I got a call from Tom Verschuere, organizer of the Rendez-Fou parties. He had the joyful news I was on the guestlist of Friday night's The Sound party. We drove to Ghent and were suprised by the extraordinary location of this party, an hangar of industrial site still in production! The setting and ladies were promising, but a power failure brutally interupted the party take off. The techies did everything possible to get the electricity back in the air, but apparently something was short-circuiting. We decided to leave, since it was unlikely they were going to solve this technical issue quickly. Since we were in Ghent, Kokorico was only a ten minute drive away. The party theme in Kokorico was Love-everyone, a gay and gay minded monthly party concept. It's one of the best kept secrets these days that gay parties are the place to go to find good looking single hetero girls. The place was packed, but still there was a relax atmosphere with a smile on everyone's face. As an extra we got the Mister Love Everyone finals which were going on, so lot's of acts and entertainment. An experience I can recommend! On Saturday night I first went to see Joeri's Volley final, unfortunately his team lost the game, but still it was a thrilling game. After the game I drove to Ghent to meet my friend Janneke. She introduced me to the Cigar Lounge of Belga Queen, a high class restaurant at the Graslei in the center of Ghent. The design of the bar by Antoine Pinto gives you the feeling you're in the old Belgian colony Congo. The great selection of liquor and Havanna cigars combined with live lounge music makes this the perfect location for a laid back night with friends. We enjoyed the Leroy & Pommery champagne served in style...

No Guts, No Glory!

Jay Frog [Scooter] & Me
Yesterday, Fou69 needed some assistance with his server farm and asked me to come over to his place. After we fixed the problem with one of his servers, we decided to hit the road to Rotterdam. Fou wanted to check a club called Hollywood Music Hall for a possible 'Fou solo on tour' gig. This place had 11 rooms and more than 20 bars! Every possible music genre was played and all kinds of people, mostly teenagers, were painting the town red. Suprise, suprise, who was playing the decks in the main hall... Scooter!! We couldn't have wished for a better start of our party night. By now we understood that the TMF Music Awards 2005 had taken place on Friday evening, so we were wondering where the official after party was taking place. We found out that NOW&WOW was hosting it, but little chance to get in, because it was VIP & artists only. We decided to give it a try anyway. After walking over the long red carpet, we arrived at the entrace which was guarded by multiple bouncers. The asked us for our invitation and if our name was on the list. Of course we were not on the list nor did we have invitations. Guess what...Fou managed to convince the bouncers in less than a minute! We walked in and enjoyed the ladies, stars and the free drinks! Thanks TMF & FOU! See my pics & vids here.
